Principal’s Message

Dear Twain Families,

It is hard to believe that Friday marked the end of the first trimester and we are already approaching Thanksgiving!

As we mentioned in our note on Thursday, we want to emphasize how important our Twain community is to us and we want to make sure that all of our students feel safe and comfortable.  Please reach out for any way we can support your students.

On Friday, November 19, report cards will be emailed home.  You will also be able to view them on the Parent Portal.  If you have not logged into the portal, we highly encourage you to do so.  You will be able to view grades throughout the trimester as well.  Click HERE for instructions on how to log on.  If you need your username information, you can email [email protected] and Alyssa can provide that information.  Additionally, our District Family Liaisons will be at Twain on Tuesday, November 16th at 9-10:30 to help.  Please stop by and we can walk you through the process!

We look forward to seeing all of our Twain families at Family-Teacher conferences on November 22 and 23.  It is important that ALL Twain families meet with their teachers to celebrate the successes of our students, as well as talk about the opportunities for growth throughout the year.  It truly takes a village to raise children, and we value the partnership between home and school!

As a reminder, there will be no student attendance for the entire week of 11/22-11/26.  We wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and hope everyone has an enjoyable break!

Best,

Alyssa and Monica

Attendance
Each day matters and makes a significant impact in a child’s learning.  Please help us in making sure our children are at school daily.  Over the past week, our 1st-5th graders attended an assembly to review the importance of attendance.  Make sure to watch the video HERE.  **Kindergarten will have their assembly on Monday!

Hats/Hoods
Please help us and remind your students that hats and hoods are not to be worn during the school day.

As the weather starts to change, it is important that we are dressing appropriately for the temperature, as well as attending school every day.  We will monitor the weather, but students will be going outside as much as possible to get fresh air!  Please make sure your student has an appropriate coat, hat, gloves, and snow pants.  If you are in need of any of these items, please reach out!

Around The Campus
Pop Tabs
Throughout the district, we are collecting Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House.  Please help Twain and CCSD21 students collect as many pop tabs as possible.  You can send the tabs with your student and they can put them in the designated box in the office!
