Principal’s Message

Dear Twain Families,

Wow!  On Friday, we finished up our second trimester of the 2021-2022 school year.  Time is surely flying!  This year has certainly been another roller coaster, but we are so appreciative of the incredible Twain community for sticking together to help keep each other safe, healthy, growing, and learning.

Thank you to our families for working with us to improve the drop off and pick up procedures.  As mentioned in the letter from the district, it is important to follow the guidance to keep all of our students, staff, and families safe.  Here is another copy of the Twain Parking lot procedures in both English and Spanish.

Technology is an incredible tool for our world to use to help us learn and grow; however, too much can be negatively impacting our children.  Here are some tools that families can use to help set limits and have productive conversations regarding the use of technology.  Check out these great resources in English and Spanish.  You can also text “kids” to 21555 to receive great tips from Common Sense Media about great tips for tech at home. Please have conversations with your children about what they are watching/doing on their devices.

This upcoming week kicks off Read Across America week, where as a nation, we celebrate diverse readers.  Congratulations to all of our reading medalists who have completed the library reading challenge.  We are so proud of our Twain readers and can’t wait to continue to see the growing wall of readers!

During the last trimester, we want to really emphasize the importance of attendance.  We have been working hard to make sure our students are in school learning everyday and we need your help.  Addressing chronic absence is a key component of improving graduation rates, increasing academic achievement and giving young people a good chance for success in their adult life.  Please help our Eagles to prepare to soar.

We appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement throughout another challenging year.  Our students have accomplished so much in the first two thirds of the year and we can’t wait to see what is coming!

Best,

Alyssa and Mónica

Around The Campus
Pop Tabs

Throughout the district, we are collecting Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House.  Please help Twain and CCSD21 students collect as many pop tabs as possible.  You can send the tabs with your student and they can put them in the designated box in the office.
